The time has come, you are finally ready to plant some vegetables! But how exactly do you choose?
There’s a few “easier” options, but remember that easy is different to everyone.

Tomatoes
I’ve had success with tomatoes of all types. Regular tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and everything in between. The thing to watch out for on these are hornworms. They will decimate a tomato plant very quickly if you don’t keep an eye out for them. The other thing to remember for tomatoes is that pretty much all of them are going to need a support structure of one type or another to keep them upright.
Beans and Peas
These you pretty much put in the ground and they grow. Depending on the variety, you may need support for these plants as well. Some are a bush variety, and some are a pole variety. Peas may be climbing. I don’t feel like they need a ton of care, and you are able to get a pretty good harvest out of them.
Peppers
These are another plant that I don’t feel requires a great deal of fuss. Be aware that hornworms will also eat pepper plants, but otherwise I haven’t had many problems with them. If you top your pepper plants, they get more bushy and produce more.
Now, if you don’t like these suggestions, that’s fine! These are what I personally consider to be the most beginner friendly vegetables to plant. There are so many other types of vegetables that you can plant. It’s all about experimentation and seeing what works in your area. I also like to grow carrots and radishes, and have pretty good success with those. But broccoli, cauliflower, and eggplants have been an issue for me in the past. Try out different plants in your area and see what does best in your soil!
What vegetables are your favorite to plant? Do you agree with my suggestions?
