Project Indecision is Real

Posted on March 19, 2025March 16, 2025 by Kelly

Ever have the urge to start a new project, but you can’t quite figure out what it is that you want to do? Or maybe you have a bunch of projects already started, and you can’t decide which one to pick up and work on. Maybe you have spent hours doomscrolling through Instagram and now you’re down a rabbit hole of tambour beading and where do you even start?

No? Just me?

That’s totally normal, and something we all experience from time to time! It’s ok to not know what you want to do next. It’s also ok to want to do something different. It’s ok if it takes you some time to figure it out.

Crafting is supposed to be a fun thing, not something that causes you stress. Don’t get me wrong, there are times when it’s stressful – like when you mess up counting AGAIN on that crochet blanket. However, most of us do these crafts to relieve stress. So if you need to put it down for a while, that’s totally ok. I’ve been there. I have a project that’s been in timeout for quite a while, and I’m not really sure when I will pick it up again.

There are a lot of crafts to learn. There are a lot of projects to do. Figuring out what you want to do can take time. If you’re the type of person who benefits from making a list, then do that and see if it helps. You can also flip through images and see if anything grabs your attention more than another project. Join a community (like us!) and talk it through with people who will understand and might be able to give some perspective.

What projects are you *thinking* about lately?
